Recently rediscovered this gem in my garage alongside a lot of my old punk tapes. It has to be one of the best compilations I have ever heard. It was referred to as ‘new country’ back in the 80’s, but like a lot of music it defies a lable. There is some quality songwriting and performance that took ‘country’ away from the slush strings of Nashville and gave the genre some balls. Highly recommended.
